Default Excel Macro

here is what I want to do.... I have a shared document which contains
multiple spreadsheets. I do maintain one of the worksheet in a saparate
folder to keep it up to date information. When ever I have update I want to
come to the shared folder document and try to get the latest updates copied
on to this sheet. I do not want to do simple copy. code has to check updates
between the two sheets and update only the applicable data. I am not sure
other than writing a macro is there any other way? if it is by macro code
what is it? how to do it? any help is greatly appreciated.
