I think this is what you're trying to do:

=IF(A14="x","A", IF(A15="x", "T", "")

It reads, if A14 is "x" show "A", else if A15 is "x" show "T". Otherwise,
show blank.

But perhaps, VLOOKUP is what you need.. Search the help file for VLOOKUP
and you should find a good explanation and example of how to use it...

Sorry, Mike. Forget the VLOOKUP suggestion. It won't work in the example you
gave.
