Default range search query

Hi,

How do I have a program search through five columns one row at a time
in a table, depending on numerous outcomes? i.e. look at each of 5
cells in one row across five columns, if a match is found, dismiss the
rest of the columns and proceed to the next row. I would need to be
able to check a given amount of rows and columns.
