Default Newbie problem with Excel and HTML

Hello
I need to write an application that does the following:

1. Excel file 1
An Excel file containing a table where the first line has field
headings and some of the fields are
combo boxes, and one check box
The check box allows the user to select this row
A button will go over all selected rows and copy them to a different
file - Excel file 2 where the filename of Excel file 2 is received
from a HTML file that opens Excel file 1

2. Excel file 2 - created from Excel file 1
An Excel file containing some information from Excel file 1

3. HTML file
Opens Excel file 1 for editing and providing a filename for Excel file
2

I'm new to doing this stuff with Excel so any help would be very
appreciated

10x
