Default use vlook up function

I do not have great knowledge of excel. Can you show that How can I use
vlookup function to find related data from one file to another file. For ex.
file 1 have emp no and file 2 have emp no and emp name. I want to find
related name for emp no for file 1. I think it can be done by vlookup
function as all name and nos. are not in same order.
