IF the analysis toolpak is installed (tools=Addins), then in the tools
menu, it puts in a menu item Data Analysis . . .

Select that, then Descriptive Statistics.

If the Analysis Tookpak does not appear under tools=Addins, install it from
your Office/Excel CD using the add/remove programs item in the control
panel.

There are also individual build in worksheet functions like Average, Mode,
Median, stdev, and others. Insert=function, select statistical from the
left listbox. Look at the functions listed in the right listbox
