Default If Statement

Hi I am not quiet sure how to write this IF statement. If AC= mon then
add 8 days to ab, but if AC = thur the add 6 days to ab.

if AC = "mon" then
ab = dateadd("d", 8 , ab)
elseif ac = "thur" then
ab = dateadd("d", 6, ab
end if
