Default Locking certain cells..

On my worksheet I have all my staff hours in detail on the left side....the
right side has the basics i.e. start and finish times...

Is there a way to lock the cells on the right from having anything enterred
on them.

At the moment, I input the details onto the left side and they are
duplicated onto certain cells on the right side.

Im trying to lock the right side so that people at work cant accidentally
overwrite the various important cells.

Thanks again....

Dave :)

Select ALL cells to be locked then:
Click on Format Cells - Select Protection - Tick the Locked Box.
Then Select OK.
Then :
Click Tools - Protection - Remove the Tick in the Select Locked Cells - ADD
a P/W - Verify P/W.
Then the users will not be able to select OR modify the cells you selected
and locked.

You need to remove ANY Ticks LOCKED for cells you want to be able to modify.
Select all cells you want to allow for modifying, and Format them as NO TICK
in the LOCKED BOX.

Tip,
If you have ONLY a Few Cells to be LOCKED or Protected and Much More to be
Unlocked or modifiable then do the following:

With Unproteced sheet.
Click on the small grey box in the top left corner of the sheet. (Between 1
& A)
This will select ALL cells in the sheet.
Then Click Format Cells - Protection - UnTick Locked. (May have to Click a
couple of times if sheded grey).

Then Select ALL Cells to be LOCKED. (Ctrl + Mouse Click)
Then Click Format Clees - Protection - Tick LOCKED while these cells are
selected.

Then Protect Sheet with/without P/W as required.

Hey Presto tis dones.
