Default How do I tell the pivot table to ignore the PivotCache and go straight to the data in ConsolidationReference

I'm generating an XML spreadsheet containing a table populated from a
database query. This table is used as the data source for a pivot table
in another worksheet in the spreadsheet. The ConsolidationReference
for the pivot table indicates the range containing this source data.
I'd prefer not to have to populate the same data in the PivotCache
section of the XML spreadsheet, so I'd like the pivot table to go
directly to the source data when the spreadsheet is opened. There
doesn't seem to be a lot of documentation on how this is done.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Paul
