Default setting up time sheets in excel with total hours

I have an in home day care and need a way to use excel to track the drop off
time and pick up time for the child, then I need to total the daily hours.
example drop off d3 8:00am pick up f3 2:00pm total hours g3please help

Default setting up time sheets in excel with total hours

It is simply

=F2-D2

and format all cells a time, but G3 as hh:mm, not with AM/PM.
