Default autocorrect question

I'm using office xp and have turned off every tab in every application
I can find, but when I type "march-04" into excel it automatically
changes it to "4-march." Please help!

Amanda,
Select the range in question, and right click, then choose Format
Cells. Click on the Number Tab, then choose Date on the category on the
right, and select the desired format.
