Default International dates are not recognised by autoformatting

Take some data from the clipboard with dates such as 28/01/2006 (28th of
January) as well as ones that happen to come out looking like U.S. format
dates 06/07/2006 (6th of July, not 7th of June) and apply autoformatting.
The dates that look like U.S. dates are right-justified and the ones that
look invalid are left justified / not recognised as dates. All the correct
regional settings are in place, for U.K. in this instance.

Is there a fix for this somewhere, please?

regards,
steve m
