Default missing red brackets for formatting

When excel was first installed, I could format for negative numbers or
currency and choose red brackets now that option is gone - yes I know I can
create custom formats to conpensate for the loss.

Someone told me after installing the program Costpoint this also happend to
them.
I have check the regional setting for windows but it doesn't fix my problem.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this without uninstalling this program

Any suggestions appriciated
Thanks Chris

It is the regional settings. I don't know what you checked, but this
controls that capability.

Chris

When changing Regional Settings make sure you select the parens under the
"Currency" tab, not under the "Number" tab.

Changing the format under the Currency Tab of Regional Settings is not really
intuitive so gets missed most of the time.
