Try this:

If Cells(x, y).Interior.ColorIndex = 8 Then
myPattern = Cells(x,y).Interior.Pattern
Cells(x, y).Interior.ColorIndex = xlNone
Cells(x, y).Interior.Pattern = myPatter
End If
