Default Count if, & Replace

Hi,

I am trying (i'm new to this), to create a macro that finds each time a
cell in a range says "dog", and replaces it with "pet 1", then "pet 2"
then "pet 3" etc etc.
Following this I need to be able to select the range starting with the
cell now named "dog 1" up to the row before "dog 2" and copy it to
another sheet.

I've tried a countif and a find and replace but have no idea how to put
it all together. Any help with any of this will be very much
appreciated.
