Default is it time to abandon Excel?

I have now posted several times for help on a problem the I think is
possible to do in Excel but nobody seems to want to reply.

Is it because its not possible to do, or that no-one is interested?
Is it because there are attachments?
I can understand peoples concerns with viruses, so I wont use zip files
now, but I thought a jpeg to show the range of values would be ok.
Why have the functionality if no-one is going to use it?

If I get no further with this, I will have to purchase Access and solve
the problem with that.

I am sorry if I sound negative, but I had hoped this community would be
of some assistance.

A few pointers:

a) Any posting with attachments is not going to be considered by many folks
in this newsgroup.

b) It's not paid for support, people may just be busy and not have the time
to help.

c) A lot of time people just post a problem and expect someone to solve it.
But if it's simply a case of "I don't know how to implement this" then many
people will not answer - generally you'll get more help if you have a go at
the problem yourself and ask for help with a specific problem ie "on line 27
I get a run time error 429 - any idea why?"

Why not try again and perhaps put more detail on the posting, in line with
the comments above?

Hi
No one replied to your last post because it was far too long.
You have not been specific enough in your first few paragraphs to say
EXACTLY what you want. You say that some information has too be moved
from one sheet to another, but have not said exactly what that data is.
Maybe it could be worked out from your (very long?) code, but who wants
to read through that, interpret it, and work out YOUR question??
I don't mean to sound a bit grouchy, but try to put yourself in the
position of the reader of your post and THEIR time constraints.
Keep your post short. Keep your question focussed on one issue at a
time. If you have several questions, split them up into several posts
and you can solve your larger problem as you go along. You will have
replies to such posts within minutes.

regards
Paul

Ok guys point taken.
I am not that good at describing things, thats obvious.
I couldnt think of a shorter way to explain things.
I have the code working to select the right cells in a range, but
couldnt figure out how to automate this to fill the rows in the second
worksheet.
Its one of those frustating things, I feel the answer is fairly simple,
I just cant put my finger on it.

Thanks for putting me straight!

Hi
Describe what happens with one line of data in each sheet - use some
actual figures. How does the data you have on the first sheet migrate
across to the second for that one line. People can then see how your
code is supposed to do that. If your code does not work as you think it
should, describe what you want it to do for the one line, and then what
it actually does.

Paul
