month format
I have 12 months entered as numerics over 12 columns.
How do I display them as months, eg Jan, Feb etc; mmm displays all cells as Jan!! |
month format
In first cell enter 01/01/2006
In second, enter 01/02/2006 Select both cells, drag and copy across or down for 12 cells, then format them as mmm -- HTH Bob Phillips (remove nothere from email address if mailing direct) "Newbie" wrote in message ... Thanks Bob, but it's someone else's sheet. I was hoping there was a method
with formatting that could recognise these values as months rather than days. Well it depends upon what data is in there, but from your description it
doesn't sound like valid dates. -- HTH Bob Phillips (remove nothere from email address if mailing direct) "Newbie" wrote in message ... Thanks Bob, but it's someone else's sheet. You are right Bob, they are not valid dates. My apologies for being unclear.
The months are entered as number e.g. 1,2,3 etc representing Jan, Feb & Mar.. You can't do it with formatting then as there is nothing there that says
Jan, Feb, but it is being interpreted as days within Jan. -- HTH Bob Phillips (remove nothere from email address if mailing direct) "Newbie" wrote in message ...
