I need to dynamically generate an Excel spreadsheet for a client who
currently uses Excel to track time for her staff. As a test, I saved her Excel spreadsheet as an "XML Spreadsheet" in Excel 2003. It created a text file filled with XML code, which I can partially comprehend. When I opened this file in Internet Explorer, it displayed exactly the same as it does in Excel, down to the Menu bar. However, when my client tries to open the same file on her computer, tha actual XML code is displayed instead. I am assuming that she needs to install an ActiveX control or some other component to tell her copy of IE to render this XML file as an Excel spreadsheet, but my searches on Google have not been specific enough to find an answer -- perhaps I am not wording my query correctly. Anyways, if anyone can point me to a solution for my client I would be much obliged. Thanks in advance. |
