Default Finding Asymptotes from a set of data in Excel

Hi

Can anyone help me find asymptote from a set of data in two column x
and y that show the frequency responce of a say a freq. responce in
Excel?
Finding it from a function seem relatively easy but without a model for
the data is there a method of finding two lines that meet to produce
the turning point?

Cheers

Hi WAYNEL
One way: Generate the functions a+b*x-y copied in a column parallel to x
and y, where a and b are linked to two cells. Their best values you can find
by means of Solver, minimizing the sum of quadrats of those function values
(in some third cell). Naturally, you have to eliminate the number of initial
pairs so that the a and b start to became approximately constant. Not too
mathematical algoritm but may work.
