Default How do i open excel sheets under one excel program

i opened several excel file, but it turns out to be opened in different excel
program, i.e. i cann't switch to the other excel files by pressing Ctrl +
Tab, as the files are opened by another excel. in order to switch inside
excel program i had to use open... from toolbar, instead of simply double
clip the file from explore.
i think there is one opions might have been set wrong, but just don't know
where i could reset this function.

Hello Raypan,

The normal mode for Excel is to open files in the same program. Unles
you are launching Excel from another program, all excel files shoul
open in the same Excel program. If this not the case you prpbably hav
a corrupt entry in the registry. You can restore Excels defaults b
doing the following...

1. Click START
2. Select RUN...
3. Type in EXCEL.EXE/RegServer
4. Click OK

Sometimes one of these works:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.
