embedding picture or object in a cell
I am trying to insert or embed a picture or object directly into a cell so
that I can reference it in other locations on the sheets of the workbook. |

Roy,
As far as I know it's not possible to put objects *in* cells: they can only be positioned *over* them. Tim -- Tim Williams Palo Alto, CA "Roy Ringrose" <Roy wrote in message ... Pictures and other drawing objects reside in the drawing layer "above"
the cells. Only values and formulas can be entered in cells. You can format the picture to move and resize with cells so that it will always be in the same relative location to a cell or cells. I've been trying to do this as well, and it doesn't seem possible. The oonly
other thing I can think of is whether its possible to creat additional symbols (eg from shapes) if these could somehow be added to the range of symbols, they could then be referenced by formulae etc from cell contents. Any thoughts anyone? "JE McGimpsey" wrote: Pictures and other drawing objects reside in the drawing layer "above" the cells. Only values and formulas can be entered in cells. There is a program that very few people know about in Windows XP that allows
you to create, essentially, your own font/symbols. It can be found in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. The program is called eudcedit.exe, and it will allow you to make your own characters. Here's a useful article on how to use it: http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/privchar.htm "Alan Burton" wrote: I've been trying to do this as well, and it doesn't seem possible.
