Default Help with Excel VBA Programming

I have recently joined classes for learning VBA Macros(total of 12 Hrs) and
would like advise on what book can help the most or is most objective for
beginners?

The education advisor is repeatedly suggesting going to Newsgroups for help.
But can i have some suggestions please about some steps i can follow ?

Thanks and regards
