Default Activeworkbook Error

Hi

I get the following message when trying within a procedure to return the
name or path of a file that I have created:

"Run time error '-2147221080 (800401a8)'

Method path of object '_Workbook' failed"

with END DEBUG HELP buttons on the message box

The file is being created as a copy of a file that has just been downloaded
from the financial system. I have put in some code in the proc to ensure the
newly created file is activated. I tried using the code below in the
Immediate pane:

Activeworkbook.Path

Or

Activeworkbook.Name

but it just seems to result in the same error as quoted above.

I tried saving the new file but that di not help either - the file saved OK
but it still produced errors as above.

Any help gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Tim
