Default Find the user of an Excel file

Hi,

Is it possible to find the user or machine that has an Excel file open? I'm
working on a project that will be working with some Excel files that may be
in use by someone else. I'd like to be able to know that it's open before I
crash and burn. Then, if it is open, to find out who is using it.

Thanks,

Art
