Default Dates

Hi,
I am trying to add 6 months to a date in column A. Dates are formatted as
dd/mm/yy (UK). I have tried a few different ideas but the amended date
switches to US format. This despite the cells being formatted as UK Dates.
My current formula is =SUM(MONTH(A5))+(6)

Any ideas please?
Mickey

Start Date 6 Month Date
01/06/2005 12/01/1900
01/01/2001 07/01/1900
01/02/2001 08/01/1900
01/06/2005 12/01/1900

One way:

=DATE(YEAR(A5),MONTH(A5)+6,DAY(A5))

Note that this will mean that 6 months from 31 August 2005 will be 3
March 2006 due to the difference in the number of days per month. If you
want something different, you're going to have to explain what should
happen in those cases.
