Default Format Half of a Cell


I am wondering if it is possible to have a macro run that formats onl
part of a cell.

Say I have the following in a cell: D05 D06
I want to format only D05 in green color with 14 font size

With ActiveCell.Characters(1, 3)
.Font.ColorIndex = 43
.Font.Size = 14
End With
