Default Suppress sub totals on pivot table

I am using Excel 2002.

Here is a sample spreadsheet :

Bill $1
Bill $3
Bob $5
Bob $5
Jerry $6

If I do a pivot table on the above data. I will get a subtotal on each
person. I do not want subtotals. I only want the grand totals.

How can I suppress the subtotals on a pivot table?
