Default lock and unlock cells programatically

How would I lock and unlock cells (protect) programmatically. Say I have a
Range myRange - How would I Protect those for editing?

Thanks in advance for your help

Try recording a macro when you:

Unprotect the worksheet
select your range
format|cells|protection tab (lock those cells)
reprotect the worksheet.

It should be pretty close.
