Default EZ Formula Syntax Question

I want to something like this:

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=R1C&(offset+2)*RC[-4+x-2]"

(offset is some constant, and x is the var in for loop)

The VBA recorder gave me this:

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=R1C7*RC[-4]"

What is the correct synatx to do this? Thank
