Default Accessing "AllowEditRange" without unprotecting sheet

I have a function written designed to write data into a templat
(another excel file) -- it'll save me tons of time, but here's th
problem:

The excel spreadsheet I'm writing to has locked "AllowEditRange" -- t
which I know the password -- but the sheet itself is locked, and
don't know the password for that.

I cannot seem to find any way to programmically unlock the range vi
the password I'm given -- most ideas I've had have been thwarte
because the cell is locked
