Default macro in vba to display autoshape

I am look to have a gradient of color displayed instead of my cell
background. Like 1-green, 2-blue and if 1.5 is entered green fading
into blue. Now I can create an autoshape that does that, and have to
manually size and place it in the correct spot. Is there any way some
VBA can muster that?
