I have a file which uses various data which is stored in a separate
spreadsheet in a different directory. The location of that external spreadsheet may change. I have two questions: (1) what is the exact syntax for naming a range in an external spreadsheet (2) are there any clver ways to ensure that the reference changes automatically if the external file is moved to a different location. |

There are several ways you could be refering to a named range (individual
cell? Multiple cells) in another workbook. Perhaps particulars are what method you are using. If a cell link, is the other workbook open or closed? As to number 2, unless the workbook is opened and relocated by doing a save as with the referencing workbook opened as well, probably not. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "David" wrote in message ...
