Default How to use ADO to change Pivottable sourcedata query

I can connect to my external database fine via ADO ODBC connection. However,
how do I change the sourcedata query for a pivottable in Excel via ADO code?
I do not want to use the MSQuery (i.e use the wizard) to do this because I am
running into sql string length limitations. This should be simple but I have
researched all day and cannot find the answer. Can you help?

Thanks,
Chace
