Default Excel 2003: Can the same range be used for a querytable and a list

Is it possible to create a listobject based on a querytable range?
--Will the querytable still exist?
---If so, will the listobject expand or contract based on a subsequent
querytable refresh?

When you apply the list, it removes any connections to external data, so the
querytable would not exist. This obviates your second question.
