Default E-mail address gets Arial-fonted when it's typed. How to stop this

Hi all,

From the past posts, I understand that there is no way to turn off
auto-hyperlink on typed e-mail address exept manually "undo"-ing it.

My problem is when an e-mail address is typed it gets Arial fonted. Is there
any way to prevent this behavior? My gut feeling is "No".

Thanks.
