I would like to have a drop down list and whichever field i m choosing
automatically to put inside a shell a number that is associated with
this field. For example, if i select ice cream from the list I should
get in A1 the number 5.

and see if there is something there you can use. I suspect you might want
to combine data validation with the vlookup worksheet function.
