Network file has been changed, overwrite dialogue
I have an Excel file located on a network. It contains a macro that
references some data from Outlook, and pastes it into the excel sheet (vacation days). I'm not sure if this is something about Excel 2003 (our organization recently upgraded) or the network, so this is a general question. After using the file- even under situations where I can confirm that no-one else is opening or accessing the file (and regardless of whether I enable macros), when I try to save the file and close it, it gives a warning that "The file [filename] may have been changed by another user since you last saved it. In that case, what do you want to do:" with the options to (1) save a copy, or (2) overwrite changes Since I can confirm that no-one else has accessed the file, what else triggers this warning within Excel? If I can figure out all the possible triggers, maybe I can figure out what is causing it and correct the problem, so the warning will only pop up when someone else actually has accessed the file. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Keith -- The enclosed questions or comments are entirely mine and don't represent the thoughts, views, or policy of my employer.
