Default Controlling HTML and web pages through Excel?

Is it possible to control HTML and web pages to input characters and values
from excel into textboxes etc on web pages? This is to automate on-line
quotes through Excel, and then to output the results in Excel.

It appears that you can set IE as an object, but i am having problems with
this. Therefore, your assistance is much appreciated.

Thanks
