Default getting a drop down to start listing from the top of a column

hey,

i have a sheet that has two drop down cells on it. the information in
the second cell is dependent on what a person chooses in the first
cell. this 2nd cell information is a list of items under a heading
decided by the first cell. however when the cell drops down the drop
down window shows the items at the bottom of the list and a user must
then scroll UP to find what they want. not that this affects
functionality but it does look tacky. is there a way to fix this.
also to note: if in the data-validation window, i make the cell
references backwards (ie G50:G1) it works fine but only until the next
time i chnage the first drop down item and excel recalculates. it then
"fixes" my cell reference.

thanks

the list is opened.

You could use a dynamic range as the list source. There are instructions
