Default Run Macro

Hi Yngve,

depends on what the macro shall do... if it should do
something within the workbook, it needs to open it.

But by using screen.update and the Readonly command from
open, you can hold the opening out of the users
imagination. In other words: he will not see it anyway.

Best

Well, to update a list you need access to the other
database, so you need to open that file. Try using a macro

Application.ScreenUpdating = False
workbooks.Open FileName:="your database.xls",
ReadOnly:=True

' update code

workbooks("your database.xls").Close
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

This should automatically get the update data without
showing that you open that file.

Best
