Default VBE Weirdness

I'm seeing very weird behavior in the VB Editor. For one of my
projects, there is an extra object in Microsoft Excel Objects folder of
the Project Explorer. It's got the same icon as the "ThisWorkbook"
object and has *identical* properties to the "ThisWorkbook" object.
There's no code assigned to it, and there's no worksheet in the
workbook that corresponds to the name. But I can't delete it. As far
as I can tell, it's not causing me problems, but I have started to see
some unexpected naming conflicts that are making me doubtful that it's
a totally benign thing.

Any ideas or advice?

Thanks.

This isn't quite it. First, I don't have google desktop installed.
Second, I'm seeing a duplicate, extraneous *object* in the Microsoft
Excel Objects folder, not an entirely duplicate project. Thanks,
though.
