Interesting the link on the previous reply was bolexed by Google Groups
Beta because it hides the last few characters before an at-sign (@) like in the email address which it also deliberately messed up. Incidently the reason for replying in the first place was so that the original question will not appear as unanswered. David McRitchie wrote: http://groups.google.com/groups?thre...4r8p@ 4ax.com |

my mistake should have been %40 instead of @ in the message-id
but this means that a lot of my links on webpages have to be changed to work weith Google (web archives), and I think it assumes ownership (proprietizes) of newsgroups to Google with their thread-id instead of the universal message-id which they are hiding in Google Groups Beta. The following link based on message-id should work but you won't see the message-id in Google Groups Beta from what I see so far... http://groups.google.com/groups?thre...8p% 404ax.com instead you see the thread-id http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...5ea95c86e9e7e6 |
