Hi,
The following discussion really helped me to get the CellColorIndex working... still not sure what I was doing wrong but this sorts it... http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...1b572a5734531f Anyhoo- this will only give the colour of a defined cell (in this case A1...) is there a way to get the cell to the left (i.e. cell M3 in the exmple I tried below) Range("L3").ValueR1C1 = CellColorIndex(RC[-1], False) I have played around with it for ages to no avail.
