Default Excell files showing "Read Only" access denied

I have excel files on my computer with the above description. I cannot open
these files. Other peoople on my network can open these files without any
problem. It will not allow me to clear the "read only". What can I do to get
these files so i can access them?

Do you have write access to those shares? Excel will respect any OS setting
that says you can't write to that drive?
