Just to clarify what you mean by "function which returns the date as
string".

Is it just taking a cell, and switching 20040131 (31st Jan) around t
31/01/2004 using the left,mid and right functions ? and it bein
returned as a string?

But then again, I still won't be able to convert it to Excel Dat
