Sorting with Drop-Down Menus

Greetings all,

Is there a way to sort by the values selected from a drop-down menu? I have
a spreadsheet that uses a drop-down menu in each row in column G to select
the status of the item listed in each row. I want to sort based on the
status value in each row. Any ideas?
