What if I dont have LotusNotes? DO I need to have
LotusNotes? And if I do have to have LotusNotes, is there any other way? Thanks Todd -----Original Message----- -----Original Message----- Hey guys Is there anyway from over a network that an excel file or database can somehow send a communication or some sort of response to force another Excel file to perform a query or some kind of update? What I am trying to do is when a change is made to an Excel or database file, I want it to somehow trigger ane vent that will force a remote excel file to perform an action. I dont want the remote file to perform an action if no change has been made to the database. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks Todd Huttenstine . From Excel help...(really) Use the Lotus NotesFlow Action menu Lotus NotesFlow is a set of workflow features that allow transparent interaction between a Lotus Notes database and other programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. NotesFlow features can also be used to route forms, send reminders, request and process approvals, and run scheduled batch processes. When Microsoft Excel is participating in NotesFlow, an Action menu appears to the left of the Excel Window menu. The Action menu displays each of the available actions as commands. The commands available on the Action menu depend on how the Lotus Notes form is designed. When you design a form in Lotus Notes to use the NotesFlow feature, you publish the actions you want to make available in other programs that support NotesFlow. The Lotus NotesFlow features require Lotus Notes 4.0 or later. For more information about how to use Lotus NotesFlow, refer to your Lotus Notes documentation. |
