Default sorting with a blank column

Hi all,
Not sure this is programmatic but.... here's my problem.
A1 has a name, row 1 has scores in columns B to J, totaled in K1.In row2
is more scores for the name in A1 (no name in A2).It is totaled in L2. I
add K1 and L2 in M2. Then I re-start the same process in row3. Two rows of
info for each name in column A. I even want to rank the scores in N2 by the
total in M2. The problem is how can I "hold" these two rows together so I
can sort by the totals info in M2 or N2.

Any help is appreciated, always. If I'm in the wrong group for this, please
let me know and send me......away.

This question was rewritten in another thread which was answered by "arno".

Just goes to show that it is a lot easier to follow the question then from
a text representation of a spreadsheet than trying to fill in a spreadsheet
mentally from words.
