Default Delete Add-In

Hi, (Excel 2003)

I've added some Add-Ins using the following way:

"Tools/Add-Ins" --- "Browse"

This Add-Ins are now available in the Add-In-List but I
do not longer use them.

Does anybody have an idea how I can remove them?

Many thanks for help.
Maria

Default Delete Add-In

Hi Maria

Close Excel
Delete or copy the Add-ins to another folder.
Open Excel

You will see a Msgbox that tell you that it can't find the Add-in
ToolsAdd-ins and click on the Add-in name
Excel will ask you if you want to remove it

Dear Ron,

this is in fact a possibility and it works fine.

Honestly: I expected a solution which didn't require to
leave Excel ;-).

Many thanks for your quick help.

Those things are stored in the registry and loaded when Excel starts. So
leaving is not the point, it's the restart.

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it ;-)

Best wishes Harald

Hi Harald,

in my opinion in the Add-In Dialogfield should
provide be a button which allows to remove
an Add-In directly there. It would be easier
to handle.

Best regards,
Maria

I don't diragree with you, Maria. But I make similar things for a living,
and sometimes one has to limit the application in areas that aren't too
frequently used just or the sake of keping its size down. This "button"
should be able to
- remove the addin from the list
- optionally delete the addin
- find/browse for the addin in a new location
- move the addin to a new location
- handle different versions of the same addin
I have no idea how many excel users that has ever clicked the Tools Addin
menu, but it's be surprised if it is more than a percent of them.

But yes, It would be a nice feature

Best wishes Harald
