Default Application.ScreenUpdating malfunction

Has anyone encountered a situation where "Application.ScreenUpdating =
False" has worked fine in the past, and then all of a sudden it won't
function properly (the property remains true)?

Thanks,
Tom

I have seen a lot of claims of that, but never been able to verify it
happens. Many times, there may be an event firing that reverses the
setting.

Also, if you call a function from the analysis toolpak, it can reset the
setting as an example.
